This is how well you are covered

The EU Blue Card vs. travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance

If you are a resident of Denmark and travel out into Europe and the world with only the blue EU Health Insurance Card, you risk having to pay everything yourself should you need help. You are covered on the same conditions as the local citizens of any EU country you are travelling in. If you need to be repatriated home, you will not be covered by the EU Health Insurance Card, and the bill will be sent directly to you. For any travel outside the EU area, you will have no coverage from the blue EU card.

Therefore, you should always have travel insurance that complements the blue card both within Europe and further afield.

With travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance, you can go on holiday with peace of mind. We ensure that you and your family are well covered, no matter where in the world you are travelling to.
